Three 2008 Allen & Ginter Relics
Lately I have been picking up come cards pretty darn cheap on Ebay to fill some sets and player want lists I have been working on. These three beauties from 2008 Allen & Ginter Baseball are the latest additions to the Touch’em All Project. The three cards are a Ivan Rodriguez Bat Relic, Adam Dunn Jersey and a Lance Berkman Pinstripe Jersey card.
The Pudge was a whole $1.26, while the Berkman and the Dunn were ninety-nine cents. With the addition of the Pudge that gives me both a jersey and a bat relic for the 2008 Allen & Ginter release. If I find a pinstripe jersey of Pudge later I will try to pick it up too.
You may be wondering why I bought the other two cards though as most of you know I am a Ivan Rodriguez player collector. In the case of the Adam Dunn he is a former Texas Longhorn. I have a couple of Rookies of him in my Texas Longhorn binder but I couldn’t pass up a jersey for a mere ninety-nine cents. I picked up the Berkman for a couple of reasons. One it was really cheap especially for a pinstriped version secondly, I have followed Berkman since his days at Rice University.
This years relics from Allen & Ginter remind me every time I see one of the Isle of Capri Casino. It was my dad’s favorite casino to go play the slots and catch a show. The frames the mini cards are in have a tropical vegetation flair in the design. Sometimes I am reminded of the oddest things by my baseball cards.
There you have it, another card off of my Ivan Rodriguez want list and a couple of cards I really didn’t intend to get until I saw them.
