Week 49 of the $10 Weekly Wax Pack Challenge

We are getting ever so close to the end of this series. Which may be a good thing or a bad thing. I am getting a bit bored with it as I still don’t have a card shop in my area. It is nice to have an excuse to go buy a few packs even though there is nothing new or interesting at the big box stores. This week I was in Walmart picking up some grub and stuff so I grabbed my packs there. I stopped in Toys R Us the day before but they didn’t have any 2008 products. This week I have one pack each of 2008 Bowman Baseball, 2008 Topps Heritage and 2008 Playoff Prestige.

The one freaking card in the pack I want and the **** is damaged. The paper that the photo is printed is foil like and has peeled from the edge a bit. The card stock itself is not damaged. Its like the card got a suntan and is now peeling.
That is just really frustrating. I wonder if it would be worth the trouble to send it back? Have any of you had success with sending damaged cards back? Was it worth the time and trouble? Oh well, I guess I will take my Pudge and my damaged numbered Packers insert and call it a day.
I do not have any sales to report this week so my monetary total stands at $62.79. I am adding two cards two my collection so that brings that number to an even fifty. The other 21 cards will go up for sale on Sportlots and bring the total number of cards from the Weekly Challenge to 735.

It’s been fun reading about your $10 challenge. I hope you just change it up a bit, but not quit all together. then again with gas prices i guess every bit help now a days.

Sorry to hear about the damage that the D. Driver card sustained. I got a damaged Carson Palmer Player Timeline card, out of last year’s Gridiron Gear, and Donruss were very good when I replaced it. No hassel at all, and with their offices in Texas it shouldn’t take too long to get the new card back to you!

Gustavo,
I have enjoyed the weekly packs and I am glad you have enjoyed reading about it. Hopefully, you will like the new format too.
Phil,
Did you get the same card back when you returned the Palmer? I am leaning toward sending it in now.

I did get the exact same card back. It was possible even slightly better as the Palmer card I sent in had 2, single colour JSY swatches. Where as the card I got back (same set, year etc), had 1, 1 colour JSY swatch and 1, 2 colour JSY swatch. Hope that makes sense! If you go on Donruss’s web page, it should tell you what you need to send in with the damaged card. It includes a quick explanation of the problem, the pack you pulled the card from etc.
