The Sports Collectibles Christmas Tree

Cleveland Indians Jersey

I am lucky enough to have a wife that loves to decorate for Christmas. Since she likes to put a Chritmas tree in each room of our house I get to have my very own sports tree in my computer room. I forget how tall the tree is but it is probably about ten feet tall. I have all kinds of collectible items on the tree. Some were made as Christmas ornaments but others just found there way onto my tree.

I will be posting a pic of a different ornament every Friday until Christmas and then I will post a picture of the whole tree. Think of it as my Christmas card to you, so Merry Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year too. This first ornament will be for my blogging buddy over at Indians Baseball Cards Always. As the name of his blog suggests he is an Indians fan so I thought this would make a great choice for the first ornament. It is a mini Cleveland Indians jersey.

I have a few of these Expos, Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, Cubs, Tigers and the Indians. They were issued in 1989 and the jerseys that had numbers on the fronts are all number 89. They came on little hangers so they are easy to hang on my tree. They look great on the tree too.

This is awesome, can’t wait to see what other ornaments you have on there, I’m a bit jealous.

My roommate and I both have a box of the Topps Holiday Set at our apartment just waiting for us to crack come Xmas. I also did a little splurging this morning and ordered myself some boxes for Xmas (2006 Bowman Sterling FB, 2006 National Treasures FB, and 2007 UD Rookie Threads FB). Xmas day will be exciting!
