2007 Bowman Heritage Blaster Box Break

I managed to pick up a 2007 Bowman Heritage Baseball Blaster box the other day. This is the last year for Topps to produce the Bowman Heritage line. I liked the Bowman Heritage issues so I hate to see it go. However, I do wish they would stop this two prospects per pack nonsense. The Rainbow parallels are okay as they are spread across the entire 300 base card checklist. This years version is patterned after the 1952 Bowman issue.
Once again these retro styled cards feel nice sliding through my hands as I open the packs. The fronts are nice and clean but some of the facsimile autographs are really tough to see. I thought I had a no sig version of Troy Glaus until I looked at it again the next day and noticed the sig in the dark colored jersey. The backs mirror the original 1952’s. This blaster box sells for $19.99 for an 8 pack box while the original 1952 Bowmans sold in one card packs for a penny and five card packs for a nickel. My how times have changed.
You can check out the sell sheet over at Topps.com for the particulars of what is available in this years issue. Now lets check out just what I got in my blaster box. I hope I get a Pudge, a Clemens, a Pence, a Braun and after that I am not particular. Oh, maybe a Tulowitzki too.
Prospect Cards – 16
Rainbows – 7
No Facsimile Autos – F. Hernandez, Alex Gordon RC
Base Cards – 38 Including Ryan Braun RC
Checklist Cards – 2
Pieces of Greatness Jersey Cards – Paul Henry Konerko
Alternate Backgrounds – Daisuke Matsuzaka RC
How about that, second blaster in a row that I pull either an autograph or jersey card. All in all it was a pretty good box considering the Konerko jersey. I only got one of the cards I wanted from the list above, Ryan Braun. Some of the other pulls not mentioned were Daisuke Matsuzaka RC Alternate Background, Frank Thomas, Andy LaRoche RC, Jarrod Saltalamacchia RC and a Johan Santana Rainbow. Another card that caught my eye was one of the Prospect cards. It was the Brian Bocock card. I had to look at it twice as the name just looks funny. I’ll just leave it at that.
Maybe I should pick up a few more blasters and see how long my luck holds out. I would imagine it will be a long time before I pull another relic or auto so I am not going to rush out and pick up some more.

Wow. White Sox Cards blog might give up his first born for that Konerko.
How much is a blaster and what exactly is it?

Alejandro,
This blaster was $19.99 for 8 packs. Blasters are retail boxes packaged for sale at retail chains like Target, Walmart and Toys R Us. There are normally some differences with the retail packs like not all inserts are available in retail ect.

I’ve bought about 5-6 blasters of Bowman Heritage and have pulled either an auto or a relic out of each one.

Thats tremendous Tim. I have been reading alot of posts and comments about strange collation patterns in Heritage this year. Maybe I should go out and buy some more.
