One of the things I have missed the most about not having a card shop in town is the fun of just dropping by and picking up some wax packs. Busting packs and boxes is still one of the things that gets my motor running about cards. But, one of the most frustrating things is the pack tampering issue at retail stores. You can read my post The Dark Side of Pack Tampering for more on my thoughts on this issue. A few weeks ago I discovered that a new card shop would be opening in my hometown. This Friday, June 29^th is opening day. I feel a sick day coming on. I may not be able to get there on Friday but you can bet I will be there Saturday.

Anyway, I had this idea of buying some wax packs each week and publishing a post about the results. I didn’t want to just tell you about the cards I wanted my fellow collectors to participate in the project. Also, what would I spend per week and what would I buy? I am hoping that this series brings memories of getting your allowance and going to the store to buy some cards. So I settled on $10 per week for the project. I know several kids that got $10 a week for an allowance plus I can afford that expenditure on top of what I normally buy. I think I have found a great way to involve my readers and figure out what to buy each week. I am going to let the readers decide what I buy.

I haven’t decided on how long this series will run, you the reader will probably end up with that decision. Since this is the first post in the series we will begin with the pack selection right here. Just leave in the comments or fill out my contact form what you would like for me to purchase. I’ll select the most popular choice or choices and make the buy. Now bear in mind that I am only going to spend $10 but it can be on one or several packs just depending on how much they are. Also, I would like to keep the choices to the current years cards but they can be from any sport.

After I open the cards I will write a post letting you know what I pulled. The cards I like will stay in my collection and the rest will go on Ebay or Sportlots. I’ll keep you posted on the results of the sales. Along the way I will have some contests where I will give some of the cards to my readers.
